Failed attempt to write a brief biography, in three volumes
Prologue:
Trickless is the soloproject of a dude called Howling and it all started in 2004; as a duo. The kind of music is hard to define, but can best be described as a mixture of punk, rock and pop. With the serious lyrics he is trying to draw attention to life in general and everything related to it.
Volume 1: The Big Bang

Howling came in contact with music on his third birthday, when he got his first little 'drumkit'. Since that day, his interest in music slowly started growing. "A couple of years later it reached it’s peak, when I bought my first CD: Sepultura! Many years later, a friend offered me some old drumkit; an offer I just couldn’t refuse," he says.
With these drums, he taught himself how to play, by playing along with Metallica, Soulfly and Limp Bizkit. Of course, it didn’t take long before he bought himself a ‘real’ drumkit, which he slowly expanded.

A few years after that, he purchased a guitar and, once again, taught himself how to play; this time along with Blink 182. Besides drums and guitar, he now plays bass and keys as well, and composes the Trickless repertoire. He was influenced by many bands; from Blink 182 to Coldplay, The Beatles and Green Day, but his taste in music is much wider than just that. Classical, jazz, blues... It doesn’t matter, as long as there is music!
"Before I started Trickless, I repeatedly tried to start a band. Mainly as a drummer," he says. "I shared my first experience in playing music together with a dude living in the same street. The boy played the guitar and had the same taste in music! As far as music was concerned, there was definitely a click, but several attempts to start a band together lead to nothing."
But Howling really started to get the liking for it, and pretty soon he found two new soulmates to continue his musical aspirations with. He still acted as the drummer of the group, but during writing sessions he also used the guitar. Salient detail: they usually rehearsed on Sundays, at Howling’s attic.
"We could keep this up for a long time, but apparently this group also wasn’t meant to develop into a band. We never officially seperated, as far as we were even officially together, but we just gradually stopped meeting."
One of these two gentlemen, who was still a guitar player at that time, became very important for further development. His feeling for, and thoughts about, music (especially their own) were identical to Howling’s and because of that, he was the first to join the group Howling wanted to form with his older sister; but this time as a bass player. They would start with playing some rock-covers, but eventually they were going to write their own songs. But once again it appeared to be a problem to find suitable musicians to fill the positions that were still vacant.
In the meantime, Howling was slowly working on Trickless in the background. He says: "Together with my younger cousin, I was playing music for fun for a change, without any plans of becoming a band. But the opposite happened..."
Howling clearly found his spot and couldn’t be stopped. Notes were racing through his brain and, in a relative short time, he created a considerable repertoire, with which people are already partially familiar. After about a year, they eventually decided to go for it. Howling made a logical step by contacting his musical friend, with whom he became almost inseparable. "This friend quickly came over to listen to some recordings and that same afternoon, the band, almost true to tradition, officially had three members."
Against all expectations, Howling got a lot of reactions to the ad he had put on the internet, in search of new bandmembers. After many, many (sometimes just tiring) auditions, with some of the most divergent (to say it in a nice way) musicians, the three guys could finally decide what the group was going to look like. The guitarists got a ‘thank you’ for their interest and a drummer was appointed to complete the band.
Did our hero finally manage to form some sort of band? *

*note from author:
Wouldn’t it have been great if that was the end of this story? For you it probably would, even though I suspect most people already stopped reading seven paragraphs ago...
The Die Hards among you, without a doubt fond of the heavy stuff, understand that the story has not yet ended.
Anybody can understand that, by the way... Because I had already said it contains three volumes.
(O, I really hope you have a scroll wheel...)
